Testing bench for farming tractors

by smerle last modified nov 18, 2008 07:04

The testing bench (BED) of farming tractors consists in a trailer separated in three different parts :

  • an office with a computer controlling the test bench
  • a workshop for the putting away of tools needed for the mounting ans dismounting of the control equipment
  • an electro magnetic dynamometer bench (Rotronics)

The BED instantaneously measures and calculates :

  • the torque
  • the power
  • the specific fuel consumption and the flow of the fuel injection pump
  • the engine speed
  • the torque reserve

It draws a complete check-up of a tractor in less than one hour and compares the measurements made with the official data. More than 5000 tractors are referenced (all brands and styles) and are regularly brought up to date.

The diagnosis allows to detect the defects :

  • of power and its origins
  • of torque reserve
  • of combustion (injectors, injection timing, valves, filters, advance speed)
  • of timing of the injection pump (rate, regulation, correction of the rate)
  • of rated engine speed
